The people who make up Weitz Funds are the core of who we are, and the reason we can do what we do so well. Many have been with us for more than a decade, and they know how to give our shareholders what they need.

Vice President, Head of Sales

Kelly has decades of industry and relationship management experience. After joining Weitz Investments in 2015 as director of national accounts, Kelly spent over two years building out the firm’s national account infrastructure. In 2017, she was promoted to head of sales. Prior to joining Weitz, Kelly spent more than 18 years as a strategic account manager at Lord Abbett. Before that, she was a regional manager for Nuveen Investments, Eastern division. Kelly has a bachelor’s degree in political science from Illinois State University and holds the CIMA® designation. She is also a member of IMCA.

For Yana, it's a pleasure to work with local and national clients every day. She enjoys having the chance to speak with different people, each with a different personality and different stories to tell.

Yana's enthusiasm for Weitz Investments stems from feeling good about what she does and the services Weitz provides. Before joining the company in 2000 as a client services representative, Yana was director of donor services for the Omaha Community Foundation. She also has a background in politics. She served in Washington, D.C. as a legislative assistant for U.S. Sen. Chuck Hagel and spent several years managing and fundraising for various Nebraska campaigns. Yana has a bachelor's in psychology from Southern Connecticut State University.

When she is not working with our clients, Yana serves as the board treasurer for Girl's Incorporated of Omaha. She loves jazz, reading, cooking and numerous activities to stay in shape.

Jessica joined Weitz Investments in 2013 as an internal sales associate. After four years of introducing Weitz to advisers across the country, Jessica was promoted to regional director in 2017. Prior to joining Weitz, Jessica worked at Carson Wealth Management Group as an associate wealth advisor and wealth plan design coordinator. Jessica has a bachelor›s degree in finance and marketing from Marquette University. She currently serves as president-elect for the Financial Planning Association of Nebraska.

Grant joined Weitz Investments in December 2015. In his role, Grant not only provides support to our regional directors but also has the opportunity to develop and cultivate meaningful relationships with advisors across the country.

Before joining Weitz, Grant was an Internal Sales and Recruiting Consultant with Mutual of Omaha, where he traveled around the country assisting division office management with their sales strategy and recruiting efforts. Prior to his time there, Grant spent six years at TD Ameritrade as a New Client Development Consultant, assisting new and prospective retail clients with everything from industry questions to investment strategy and asset allocation concerns. During his time at TD Ameritrade, Grant was consistently a President’s Club Award recipient for his ability to gather additional client assets. He was also a four-time recipient of the Customer Service Index Award, with a perfect client satisfaction rating.

Grant has a BA in Psychology from Creighton University. He also holds Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Outside of work, Grant’s interests include chasing his very active three-year-old son, playing hockey and running. He also enjoys surfing and snowboarding (when he can get to an ocean or mountain).
